Applying Andrew Goodwin's Theory

Quite a while ago in 1992, an American theorist, Andrew Goodwin wrote that there are 7 key characteristics of a Music video.   Im going to talk about how 3 of these characteristics may show one music videos I posted for Video Style.

This song is of course 'He's Funny that way' by Andrea Motis and originally Billie Holiday.  In the music video there isn't that much relationship between the performance and the lyrics except for that she is singing when she is performing.  There is relationship between the music and the visuals though and it is how she is talking about her partner and also the fact that the colour comes out of the trumpet when she plays it.  In the video there is some iconography with her and how she having a good time all the time.

In this song there is no lyrics but in the music video of 'Lily was here' the music has a relationship with the performance as there are clips from a movie that link with the relationship between the lead sax and the lead guitar.
